Installing Remote Admin for SiteBuilder2

This chapter describes how to install the Remote Admin for SiteBuilder 2 Module on the server where Plesk is installed.

System Requirements

For normal operation of the module, your server must meet the following hardware and software requirements:

• Plesk 7.5.3 or higher and all Plesk-related components (the list of Plesk-related components, see the Plesk 7.5.3 Installation Guide)
• 3 MB available disk space
• One of the operating systems supported by the current Plesk version

Install Module

You can install module using one of the two methods:

• through the module management feature available in the Plesk control panel
• from the command line

To install the module from the Plesk control panel:

1. In the Plesk navigation pane, click Modules.
2. Under Tools, click Manage Modules and, on the next page, select Add Module.
3. On the Upload New Module page, enter the path to the module package file or use Browse... to locate the file. The module package should have either the .rpm or .sh extensions.

   Note: For some operating systems, the package can have other extensions, for example, .deb for Debian OS.

4. Click OK. The package will be extracted and installed to the proper location. After installation, the module appears as the Remote Admin for SiteBuilder 2 custom button on the Modules page.

To install the module from the command line:

To run installation from the .sh package:

1. Make the shell script executable using the chmod command.
2. Run the shell script.

To install from the .rpm package:

1. Run the .rpm package using the rpm - Uhv *.rpm command.

To install from the .deb package (for Debian OS):

1. Run the .deb package using the dpkg - i *.deb command

During installation, the application searches for a local SiteBuilder installation and if it finds the SiteBuilder application on the same server as Plesk, it automatically modifies the DNS record to sitebuilder.hostname, where hostname is the full name of your host.

If a local SiteBuilder instance is found on the same server, the module will connect to it automatically and you will not have to manually type the local SiteBuilder address to log in to the application.

After installation, the module adds its tables to the Plesk database. Advanced can check that these tables have been created. The following tables are added:
